Beginner Series: How to Choose a Stock?

I have had this question many a times when I get to invest in the stock market. There are so many companies listed in the stock market and which one should I be picking up? I am sure most of you would have a similar question. How I did go about finding the right stock is just random. I did not know how to value a stock or how to analyze the stock. The very first stock that I picked was just random. I just thought of searching a company with starting letter’ S’ and I wanted that company to be a FMCG one. That is it. No other rules.

Stock Market scares you?

If you are afraid of stock market and the complexity that it involves then don’t get into it before you learn about those complexities. Keep your investments as simple as possible. If you don’t understand something in the stock market then make a conscious effort to learn and play the game. It is very simple game; there are many terminologies that the stock market world presents you. You need not be scared of it, when I can invest and make money I think anyone can. This is what I have learnt in years after I started investing in the year 2006, it is been three years now and I have made decent profit. Markets are choppy

Last 5 days markets seem to be either very positive or negative. It was just a roller coaster ride. The markets went up and up on one day and next day it went down. I wonder what is going on with the investor’s sentiment. Aren’t they happy with the current scenario or not? What is it that is bothering the investors? I read couple of articles last week about the economy and most of the financial experts think that the economy is on the way to recovery although they have the usual disclaimer stating that it is just author’s views and the site does not hold any responsibility whatsoever. Suggestions Needed – How to make the blog popular

Hi All,
This is request from my end. I want suggestions from “YOU” as to how to make “Our blog” a popular one. I did run a contest to popularise it but it was not a good idea. I failed miserably.
I need suggestions badly and please help me to make the blog popular. I am trying hard to let people know about it but I dont think I am targetting the right kind of people.
Anantha had suggested that I should write good articles and that should be good enough, honestly I dont know whether the articles are good or not. I would appreciate if you can tell me “YOUR” honest opinion.

Happy Independence Day

I wish all the Indians around the world a Very Happy Independence Day. Today India celebrates her 63rd Independence Day and I am very proud about it. I know many people around the world have some hatred towards India but the truth is, India is the only country in the world which has never invaded. We are the leaders in everything and we will be super power.
Proud to be INDIAN.
